Tumbarumba is easier to get to than you might think! Nestled in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains, we’re perfectly located for a quick detour off the Hume Highway.

If you’re travelling by car, take the scenic route—just 45 minutes off the Hume Freeway through stunning countryside. It is an ideal stopover or getaway for those looking to break up their journey with some fresh air and adventure.

For those coming from nearby, we’re just under 2 hours from Albury and Wagga Wagga, making us a great destination for a day trip or weekend escape.

From Sydney (NSW)

Driving: The most direct way is to drive, which takes about 5.5 to 6 hours (approx. 485 km). Take the Hume Highway (M31) south towards Albury, then turn off at Gundagai or Tarcutta to follow the Snowy Mountains Highway (B72) and Tumbarumba Road (B55).

From Melbourne (VIC)

Driving: Tumbarumba is about a 5.5-hour drive (approx. 455 km) from Melbourne. Head north on the Hume Highway (M31) towards Albury, then turn off at Wodonga and follow the signs to Corryong and then onto Tumbarumba Road via Jingellic.

From Canberra (ACT)

Driving: The drive from Canberra is about 2.5 hours (approx. 200 km). Take the Monaro Highway (B23) south towards Cooma, then follow the Snowy Mountains Highway (B72) west to Tumut and turn onto Tumbarumba Road.
