Cross Country

Tumbarumba is home to several cross-country trails that cater to a range of abilities, lovingly built and maintained by the local heroes at Cycle Tumbarumba. Here’s what’s on offer:

The Town Common Trails

This mini trail network is a family favourite with options for riders of all levels.

Brumbies Run: A fun 600m family track, perfect for parents who want to keep an eye on the kids from the nearby picnic table in a bike park.

As Common as Muck: A 1.2 km gentle green climb (42m elevation) that offers three different ways back down:

For Pete’s Sake: A smooth, flowy green descent with a few friendly table tops.

Basalt Flow: A bit more elevation, then it’s fast and fun, with plenty of flow.

Jo’s Shuttle: Feeling bold? This loose, off-camber, hand-built 2-way trail adds an extra challenge—great for climbers and thrill-seekers alike.

Mason’s Hill

Mason’s Hill serves up 15 km of Green-Blue XC trails that riders rave about. The highlight? The Pump It, Thump It, Jump It trilogy—3 km of flowy downhill that’s sure to get your heart pumping. With a mix of machine-built and hand-built trails, these three loops offer a whole lot of fun for everyone on two wheels in a bike park.

The Police Paddock

The Police Paddock was where it all began for Cycle Tumbarumba, and it’s still a favorite. This straight-up, straight-down 2.7 km loop is the ultimate fitness challenge. The tight berms and twisting descent only get more exciting the more you ride it—perfect for riders looking to test their limits and build endurance.
