Mt Tumbarumba Code of conduct

By entering Mt Tumbarumba you agree to follow the code of conduct below.

1. ALL USERS MUST HAVE A CURRENT MT TUMBARUMBA PASS
Permission to use the park is granted only to pass holders. Entering without a current pass is considered trespassing.

2. OBEY ALL CLOSURES, SIGNS, STAFF INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS
Riders must only ride on MTB trails. All MTB trails are one-way unless marked otherwise. Hikers must not walk along MTB bike trails unless marked as shared-use.

3. ALL RIDERS MUST WEAR A HELMET.
Additional protective gear is recommended. Use an appropriate bike and check your equipment before you ride. Never ride or hike under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

4. RIDE SAFELY AND WITHIN YOUR LIMITS
You are responsible for avoiding obstacles and other users. Understand the Trail Rating System and apply it to your own skill level and ability. Don’t ride/hike alone. Inform someone of your plans and expected return time. Complete the Sign In / Out procedures.

5. INSPECT TRAILS, FEATURES, AND CONDITIONS BEFORE PROCEEDING
Trails are subject to change. Inspect all trails, jumps and technical trail features before proceeding. You are responsible for checking weather and fire conditions and planning your ride/hike accordingly. All visitors must be capable of self-evacuation if required. You should not rely on assistance or advice to evacuate in the case of adverse weather or fire.

6. BE VISIBLE
Never stop where you obstruct a trail, feature or where you can’t be seen by approaching riders.

7. LOOK OUT FOR OTHER USERS
Give way when entering, merging or crossing a trail or roadway. Be considerate if overtaking, slow down, alert other riders and give them time to react before passing. Be aware some sections of the climbing trail are shared with walkers and vehicles.

8. RESPECT THE TRAILS, ENVIRONMENT AND OUR NEIGHBOURS
Avoid skidding as it damages trails (no skidiots). Don’t take short cuts, alter features or create new trails. Don’t litter. Take your rubbish with you. Lookout for wildlife, including snakes and ants. Keep your bike clean to reduce the spread of weeds. Please be considerate to neighbouring residents by reducing noise/dust and not exceeding 30km/h when riding/ driving on the entry road.

9. REPORT SAFETY CONCERNS
Outdoor conditions change rapidly. If you come across changed trail conditions, such as a fallen tree, please let us know about it by lodging a report on Trailforks.

10. SIGN IN AND SIGN OUT AT THE CLUB HOUSE
A sign in and sign out book is located at the club house. All visitors MUST sign in upon arrival and sign out when leaving. If notified of a missing park user, the information in this book may be used by emergency services or park managers to assist with locating the visitor.
